Concrete or Asphalt
Concrete, when it has been properly finished, has a very clean and fresh look and feel. Asphalt rarely has a clean or fresh appearance. In fact, it usually is very grainy looking and typically will smell badly on hot summer days. Concrete can be colored and stamped in any way that you desire, which may mean that it has the appearance of natural stone at a much lower cost than actually using natural stone materials.
A concrete driveway, when it has been properly installed is able to last 50+ years without a lot of maintenance. Asphalt, when properly maintained, can only last about 25 years and will require a lot more maintenance. The key words here are "with proper installation." Both types of buildign materials require a proper sub grade preparation. If not laid properly on a solid foundation, both concrete and asphalt can crack which allows for water seepage and damge.
Please contact Concrete Works of GA for more information about why choosing concrete is a better option than asphalt building materials.
